Midwest Malinois

I searched for four years for a Malinois breeder! As a former military Working dog K9 handler/caretaker, I was specifically looking for temperament, form to function, and working ability. I had about given up searching when a friend of mine told me about a kennel he found called Midwest Malinois. And that was the beginning.

Kevin called me after I filled out the puppy questionnaire. We spoke on the phone so many times (and at GREAT length) – I can’t even remember how many times we talked. Kevin knew exactly what I was looking for! I told Kevin to pick out a puppy from the January 2010 Bridget/Bullet litter for me, SIGHT UNSEEN! I had grown to trust Kevin’s judgment and his immense knowledge of the breed and his own breeding program. I never knew if he had picked out a male or female puppy for me till I got the puppy; it just didn’t matter.

“Bala” (Spanish for Bullet) is the PERFECT puppy! I know I couldn’t have picked better myself and in person! He is very sweet tempered, has high drive, is intelligent beyond belief, has correct “form to function” confirmation and beautiful markings, and is just so level headed with actual cognitive reasoning ability!!!

I have a two-year-old female Rottweiler – those two bonded immediately! Bala will chew on her and she loves and cleans him like his Mom, Bridget, did!

In one month, Bala has learned his basic manners in our home and has quickly learned sitz, plutz, fuss, and aus. Bala had his first training session at the airport this past weekend. He was curious but never missed a beat when aircraft (both military fighter jets and commercial jets) took off and landed. He played with small children as the Earth rumbled from the jet engines! Incredible for an 11-week-old puppy!

We have now had the distinct honor and pleasure of being accepted by Mike Wiederhold for training in Search and Rescue work! I have no doubt Bala will quickly pick it up. I just hope I learn half as fast as Bala does!

Bala is the best of the best! He amazes me daily with his intelligence, kind and loving heart, and that never-quit drive!

I HIGHLY recommend Kevin and Midwest Malinois and feel extremely honored to have been selected to have a puppy such as Bala.
